The renaissance era of art often depicted imagery depicting the atomically accurate with emotional appearance and dynamic motion. I found that a lot of these theme are also found in sports photography which is where the idea for this project started. Rugby often a sport depicted as brutal and physical but I see the emotional and respectable side to the game. A sport that it's core celebrates authenticity through diversity and encourages connection, it's a truly artistic game. By editing in the chiaroscuro style with high contrasts of light and shadow as well as selecting imagery with strong emotions and compositions with movement I pieced together this gallery.
